Disagree with a Grade? The Grade Appeal Process

Who is this for?  Learners who believe a grade does not reflect their performance.

If you believe a grade awarded for a course or assessment does not accurately reflect your performance, you can request a review through the university's Grade Appeal process.

Before you appeal

You are encouraged to discuss your concern with the lecturer first by booking an office hour at officehours.miva.university. Many grading concerns are resolved through that conversation.

How to submit an appeal

  1. Log in to the Support Portal.

  2. Select Report an Issue.

  3. Under Category, select Examination.

  4. Under Subcategory, select Grade Appeal.

  5. Complete the required information and upload any supporting documents.

  6. Submit your request.

The Examinations Team reviews your appeal and responds through your support ticket. Please allow up to 48 hours for a response.

Note  Submit an appeal only if you believe there was an error in grading. Supporting documents help the team review it effectively. Submitting an appeal does not guarantee a change, and the Learner Success Team cannot review, explain, or amend grades awarded by lecturers.
