Miva allows eligible learners to change from one programme to another within the university (a Change of Programme, or intra-university transfer) and to transfer from one academic level to another (an Academic Level Transfer). The policy supports your progression while maintaining academic standards and regulatory compliance.
You may apply if you are actively enrolled, meet the admission requirements of the programme or level you want, hold a minimum CGPA of 2.0 on a 5.0 scale at the time of application, and accept any academic adjustments that may follow, such as changes to your level, additional courses, credit transfers, or an extended graduation timeline.
Note Learners changing programme at 300 Level are required to revert to 200 Level and complete any additional courses required for the new programme. Relevant courses may be added to later semesters.
Submit within Weeks 1 to 4 of a semester for immediate processing. Requests after Week 4 are treated as an academic deferment and the change takes effect the following semester or session; level transfer requests after Week 4 are automatically deferred to the next semester.
A non-refundable processing fee of 10,000 Naira applies to all approved programme changes. The Finance Team confirms you have no outstanding obligations and validates any required retake, which must be paid for before implementation. Learners moving to a programme introduced after their original admission are charged the current tuition for the new programme. The standard processing period is 7 to 14 working days, depending on documentation, approvals, and financial clearance.
Go to the Support Portal.
Raise a ticket for Changing Your Programme or Academic Level. You will be guided through the required application process.
After submitting your request, monitor the ticket for updates and respond on the same ticket whenever feedback is provided. Once your request has been reviewed, its status will be updated to Pending, Accepted, or Declined, depending on the outcome of the review.
The Success Team acknowledges your request and guides you, Finance validates your fee status and eligibility, your academic standing is reviewed against the CGPA requirement, and Admissions validates your eligibility for the new programme. A final decision is communicated to you, and on approval your records are updated on the SIS. Relevant courses may transfer to your new programme; non-relevant courses remain on your transcript as historical records but do not count towards graduation.
The university may decline an application if you do not meet the target programme's requirements, if the transfer would significantly extend your study duration, or if it conflicts with university regulations. You may withdraw your request at any time before final approval without penalty, and you may appeal a declined request to the Registrar within seven days of the decision, in line with the Appeals Policy.
