Who is this for? All learners approaching the examination period.
Final examinations assess your understanding of everything you have covered during the semester. A handful of steps completed early will confirm your eligibility, reduce avoidable problems, and improve your performance.
Before you prepare, make sure you have met all academic requirements, including submitting your graded assessments: mid-semester assessments, end-of-semester assessments, and any group projects. Complete all Continuous Assessments before the exam period, as they contribute to your final grade.
Miva runs an examination training session before every exam period. It explains procedures, any changes to the process, and instructions for the examination software and regulations. Attending examination training(s) helps you know exactly what to expect during the examination period.
If you are scheduled to write your examination at a CBT centre, select your preferred centre during the selection window, locate the venue at least a day before, and arrive at least an hour early for verification.
If you are scheduled to write your examination remotely, install the Safe Exam Browser and required files, then test your laptop beforehand.
Ensure a stable internet connection, a working webcam and microphone, and a fully charged laptop or reliable power supply.
Organise your lecture notes, course modules, recorded classes, and practice questions.
Build a revision timetable so you cover every course, give extra time to more demanding subjects.
Use the LMS, live classes, and lecturers' office hours to clarify difficult topics.
Practise using previous assessments and class exercises, and note the mistakes you tend to make.
Read every instruction carefully and note the format, timing, and compulsory questions.
Divide your time across questions, answer simple ones first, and leave time to review.
Follow all examination regulations and maintain academic integrity throughout.
Ensure you stay calm and confident on the day of your examination.
