Repeating a Course (Carryover): Process and Requirements

Repeating a Course (Carryover): Process and Requirements

Who is this for?  Learners who need to retake a course they did not complete.

A carryover course is any course a student did not successfully complete and must retake in a later semester. You must formally request registration for it and complete all its requirements during the semester in which it is re-registered.

How to register a carryover course

Carryover courses are not added automatically. To register one, raise a ticket on the Support Portal during the registration window for the next applicable session.

  1. Log in to the Support Portal with your student email and password.

  2. Raise a ticket requesting your carryover course registration, including your full name, Student ID, Matriculation Number, programme of study, and the course code(s) and title(s) you wish to repeat.

  3. Wait for the team to review and register the course(s), subject to eligibility and credit load limits.

After your course is registered

Log in to the LMS, open the course, and complete all its requirements: learning modules, activities, Continuous Assessments, the mid-semester assessment where applicable, and the end-of-semester examination. Missing any required assessment may affect your final grade.

Note  Your total registration, including carryover and regular courses, must stay within the semester limits of a minimum of 10 and a maximum of 24 credit units, unless the university approves otherwise.
