Getting Started at Miva: A New Student's Guide

Who is this for?  Newly admitted learners beginning their studies at Miva.

Welcome to Miva. Your academic journey begins with a few simple steps that set you up for a smooth first semester. Taking care of them early means you can focus on learning rather than logistics.

Shortly after admission, expect a call from your assigned Success Advisor. Your Success Advisor is your dedicated support partner for your entire time at Miva. They help you understand university processes, navigate the student systems, find the right resources, and connect you to the right team whenever you need it. Treat this onboarding call as your chance to ask questions and get clarity on your next steps.

Complete these first tasks

  • Request your Admission Pack by completing the Admission Pack Request Form using your Student ID and Matriculation Number.

  • Set up your Miva student email. This is the university's official channel for announcements, academic updates, and important notices, so activate it promptly.

  • Complete the New Student Orientation course on the LMS. It introduces the Classroom platform, academic policies, learning resources, and study skills that help you succeed.

Once these are done, spend a little time exploring your Student Information System (SIS) and the LMS so you know where to register courses, check results, make payments, and reach your courses each week.
