A key benefit of studying at Miva is the freedom to learn from anywhere. Whether you relocate permanently, travel often for work, or live outside Nigeria, your studies continue with minimal disruption. Because Miva is an online university, relocating or changing time zones does not affect your enrolment. There are a few things to keep in mind about your records, tuition, and examinations.
You can continue from virtually anywhere with internet access, as long as you meet your academic deadlines. Your courses, materials, assessments, and resources remain accessible online regardless of location or time zone.
Visit the Support Portal and request for your address to be updated as soon as possible so the university can identify your change in location and support your studies and examinations. After updating your address, you may request to move from the domestic payment plan to the international plan, which lets you pay tuition in US dollars rather than Naira where applicable.
Examinations can be accommodated outside Nigeria. If you remain on the domestic tuition plan and intend to write your examinations outside Nigeria, you may be required to pay a parity fee to cover the international examination arrangement. Per Miva's Terms of Service, this fee is billed per semester at a rate that can total several hundred US dollars across a full programme, and it applies whether the relocation is discovered before the semester starts, during the semester before exams, or even after exams are written. Learners on the international plan who pay in US dollars are not required to pay a parity fee, since it is already factored into their tuition. If you plan to write your examination outside Nigeria, notify the university well in advance.
Note Because the parity fee can apply retroactively if a relocation is only discovered later, updating your address promptly is in your own interest.
